Is Knockvicar Alpaca Farm wheelchair accessible?

Yes, it is. The barn where we host our alpacas is flat paved and a vehicle can be driven right up to the door.

Do I need to make a booking in advance?

Yes, booking is essential. We are a very busy farm and we cannot accept walk ins. Please contact us and we will be happy to arrange a suitable appointment slot.

What should I wear for a visit?

We recommend comfortable clothing. The Irish weather is unpredictable so preferably water proof clothes or wellingtons. We do have a barn to offer shelter on rainy days, however, during the drier days we may explore the muddy outdoors. Wellies are especially important if going on an alpaca trek.

Can I bring young children?

Of course! Our alpaca farm experiences are family freindly, and children are welcome under adult supervision.

Are the alpacas friendly?

Yes! Our alpacas are well socialised and enjoy being around people. However, they are still animals with individual personalities, so we encourage calm and gentle interactions.

Can I feed the alpacas?

During our farm visits we offer you the opportunity to feed our alpacas their favourite treat. However, they are on strict diets, and for their welfare, you may not feed the alpacas anything other than the feed provided. Visitors may feed the alpaca treats from their hands, an experience that even our youngest visitors can partake in.

Do you host group visits or special events?

Yes, we can accommodate groups such as Hen and Stag parties, corporate events, birthday parties, and other special occasions. Get in touch with us for more details.

Very fun and informative. Great atmosphere, nice to see all the alpacas are fed with organic feed and hay with plenty of space for them to frolic and browse.

Alpaca are beautiful creatures and these ones are well cared for. My daughter’s had a great time feeding them and learning about the wool.

Will go again as one of my girls were sick and couldn’t make it, plus it would be nice to see them in summer. It’s well worth a visit!

We had a wonderful time at the Alpaca Farm today. Andrew took us on an alpaca hike in the area. Later we were able to spend some time with the animals and even hold a little one in our arms. Andrew gave us a lot of interesting information about the alpacas. We had a lot of fun.

Had a great day out at Knockvicar House and Alpaca farm. We got to hand feed cute alpaca’s and spend time with them in the fields. Antonio was a great guide and was very informative about anything we wanted to know. I highly recommend!

Just back from an amazing visit to the knockvicar Alpaca Farm! We were a group of 25 on a hen party and Andrew and Angela could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They provided us with lots of interesting information about the Alpacas! We were able to feed and walk the alpacas which was amazing! There is a lovely picnic area which we made use of that overlooked the field of alpacas! Can not recommend to this place enough! A fantastic trip well worth a visit for all ages!

My boyfriend loves Alpacas so I bought him the walk for his birthday. This was our second-ever Alpaca walk. I liked that there were many signs on the street so we could find it without issues and it was only us! We got lots of information about Alpacas and the girl who walked with us was very knowledgeable. The price was also good, 20 Euros per person. As you see, the Alpacas had a fun haircut and loved to eat. Recommended if you’re an Alpaca person. Since there is no shop or vending machine, make sure to bring enough water.

What a fun place for all the family! We had such fun with our 2 small children. They loved being able so close to the animals and being able to feed the Alpaca’s some treats. The animals are lovely and the staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. Just make sure to pack the wellies to go out in the field after.
